Criminal Investigations Division (CID)

Captain Clint Massingill, Director

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is comprised of one Captain, five investigators, one Investigator/Evidence Technician and one Administrative Assistant.

The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) conducts follow-up investigations into Felony offenses along with some Misdemeanor cases reported to the Sheriff’s Office.  In addition, CID is responsible for monitoring and documenting Sex Offenders on the state registry as well as monitoring Gang Activity and maintaining records of Gang members within the county.

Investigators are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on a rotational basis, to respond to emergency investigative needs but are normally available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to provide assistance when needed.

CID is trained in the use of alternate light sources, scientific chemical testing, advanced photography techniques, advanced fingerprint lifting techniques and latent print examination. The unit can process any crime scene from a minor incident to a major homicide.

CID works with law enforcement colleagues across the local, regional, state and federal levels to investigate and stop crime.

Our investigators regularly attend training in the latest scientific and investigative methods. The CID team has a long track record of bringing all kinds of major criminals to justice.
