Important Eclipse Information

  • No road closures are planned for any road in Kerr County, other than in the immediate area of Louise Hays Park. TXDOT will be adjusting Sidney Baker Street lanes to accommodate outbound traffic. Monday during daylight hours should see the most traffic on area roads.

  • If you are a local and need to travel, consider taking alternate routes that make use of highways other than Highway 27 and Highway 16, which will be moving thousands of visitors in and out of our community.

  • The current plan, while flexible, works to move as much traffic as possible to the numerous exits on Interstate 10. This includes the exits at Highway 41 for West Kerr County, Harper Road and Sidney Baker for the central part of the county, and Highway 27 for south and eastern areas toward Comfort’s three access points to I-10.

  • Locals are encouraged to plan for traffic congestion. This means reasonable preparations in the week prior to the event for needed items. Cellular services and credit card processing may be interrupted temporarily due to high demand. If you plan to visit a local business on Monday, please verify their open hours before going.

  • Camp Verde and then east on Highway 27 to Comfort.

  • For those coming from west of Ingram, the fastest way to the Interstate will be via taking Highway 27 in Ingram west to Highway 41, then to the Interstate.

  • Please reserve use of emergency service calls for serious threats to life and property, as your first responders in local police and fire departments, the KCSO, volunteer fire departments, and others will be working at full capacity to meet the vital needs of locals and visitors.
