Early Voting Rules & Traffic Flow
⇐ Back to BlogWith early voting and primary season here, it's a good time to review Kerr County policies regarding electioneering at the Hill County Youth Event Center.
Signs may be posted from 30 minutes before opening through 30 minutes after polls close.
No more than six (6) signs per candidate may be placed. Individually held signs do not count towards the maximum number.
Signs using posts that may not damage subterranean water and electrical lines.
No signs larger than 36 sq ft, or taller than eight (8) feet from the ground, including supporting poles.
Signs 3x6 ft or larger must have cut outs for wind flow or be made of windscreen material.
All signs must be spaced at least one foot apart
No one may post a sign in any location that obstructs vision for traffic.
No one may post a sign on any permanent structures, including buildings, fences or gates.
Signs larger than 18x24 inches may not be placed within 10 feet of the public roadway adjacent to the polling place.
Any political sign in violation of these regulations may be removed by Kerr County staff and placed in temporary storage. Signs will be disposed of after seven days following the voting period.
All political signs shall comply with all legal requirements, including Tex. Election Code, Chapter 255 and Section 61.003, and Tex. Trans. Code Chapters 392 and 393.

Also, traffic flow has been updated to increase public safety and prevent unsafe conditions on Highway 27 east from developing. All traffic will enter via GATE 1, and all traffic will exit via GATE 2. Please see attached graphic.
